Fraction symbols are special symbols used in mathematics to represent fractions. They consist of a horizontal or diagonal line between two numbers, with one number above the line (numerator) and the other below the line (denominator). Fraction symbols are used to represent a part of a whole or the ratio between two quantities.

Common fraction symbols include a forward slash (/), a fraction slash (⁄), and a hyphen (-). For example, ½ represents one-half, ⅔ represents two-thirds, and ¼ represents one-fourth. Fraction symbols can also be used with superscripts and subscripts to represent more complex fractions or mixed numbers.
